HOW DO I CARE FOR MY RJI DESIGNS PRODUCTS?
RJI Designs creates one-of-a-kind and limited-edition handmade jewelry using gemstones, sterling silver, gold fill, and vermeil. Each piece is truly unique, with natural gemstone variations in color, shape and size. When handled with care, your pieces will last for years to come.
- Keep your jewelry clean and dry. Protect your jewelry by removing it before showering, swimming, exercising, or cleaning.
- Apply any kind of body or hair products like lotion, makeup, hair spray, or fragrance before putting on your jewelry.
- Remove your jewelry before going to bed.
- Avoid using any liquid jewelry or metal cleaners, as they will damage gemstones. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner.
- Wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth (like the one provided with your purchase) to remove any dirt or moisture.
- Store your jewelry properly. To prevent scratching or tangling, you can store your pieces in soft pouches, lined jewelry boxes, or a jewelry armoire. Even small resealable bags will work. (The box or pouch shipped with your jewelry is great for storage.)
- Gemstones can break, crack or scratch if not handled with care. Avoid exposing your jewelry to extreme heat or prolonged exposure to bright sunlight.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY RJI DESIGNS PRODUCTS?
Sterling silver and vermeil will tarnish naturally over time with wear. To reduce the effects of wear, use a soft polishing cloth after wearing and store your pieces in a dry place.
To remove dirt, sweat, and grime, you can clean your piece using a mixture of gentle shampoo and a soft toothbrush:
- Add a small amount of gentle shampoo to a bowl of warm water and swirl to combine. Dip the toothbrush in the mixture, then gently brush the piece.
- When finished, rinse the piece in clean warm (NOT hot) water. Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
- When cleaning pearls, use a clean, soft makeup brush to avoid scratching the pearls. Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.
